Skinwalker Ranch Gate


Viewing area known as "ufo hill" by the locals.  This may be Native American Ute land and you "may" potentially be harassed by the tribal police.  Most likely you are fine as this is an decent distance from the Ranch.  You will have an excellent viewing vantage from this location of both Forth Deuschense and Roosevelt.  You will also see the sky above Skinwalker as well as the Ridge itself.  However you will not see the ranch house from here.  Many close encounters have actually occurred to witnesses at this very location!

*UPDATE The Southern vantage location has been moved east due to the old location has now been blocked off by the oil industry. The new viewing area, less than a quarter of a mile down the road, is also known as "The Southern Vantage" by the locals. This nearby hotspot is located at the corner of 4000 S and 6500 E.  The land is owned by the Utah Department of Transportation, and is generally considered to offer a comfortable elevated viewing experience of Skinwalker Ranch from a mere 1.15 miles away.  Anticipate being briefly questioned by the local police if investigating  for more than one night.  Be respectful, quiet, and have a minimal use of lights when in this area to ensure you are not a nuisance to bordering neighbors.  This location has been favorite secret "hotspot" for local investigators for years.

You will know your at the right location when you see this gate.  The security does patrol near the gate and may harass you here but this is a legal viewing location, in addition your close proximity to the ranch house makes this an ideal location.  The drawback is that the trees have infrared sensors and cameras attached to them.  The observer will be observed from this location.

The secretive and infamous "MoonShadow Ranch", several miles to the west of Skinwalker Ranch.  There are several rumors surrounding this ranch, some which can not be shared.  The locals claim this location is more active than Skinwalker certainly is more remote.  A absolute hotspot, however BEWARE; it may be monitored by more than just local farmers and native police...

The supposed "lair of the skinwalker" to the north of skinwalker ranch as described in book Hunt for the Skinwalker.  4 Wheel drive vehicle required.  This trip will be a true adventure with high payoffs.  Also on Ute territory so make sure proper trespass and camping passes and permits are picked up at Ute petroleum Fort Duchesne.
